Cup of Confessions: The Wedding Dream Tag

Hello Beautifuls,

I’m crazy excited about this post! Not everyone dreams of a wedding, but I’m one of those girls that has grown up with Disney and the beautiful princess weddings. So as a little girl I’ve always dreamt of this big day. Honestly, I thought I would’ve been married by now. I thought I’d marry at 25 and have my first kid before I hit the big 3… which didn’t happen as I jumped on the 3… wagon past Friday. And no matter the hints (small and definitely big) I’ve been giving the BF, after 11 years, the guy still hasn’t popped the question. Frustration much?! Nooooo… Can you tell?! Honestly, life doesn’t always go as we plan it. And it isn’t necessarily bad, it just brings you on other paths in life, that you hadn’t imagined. Of course, I haven’t given up the dream yet. A girl can still dream…

Anyhows, excuse my ranting… I’ve seen Jenny from Sit Back And Just Live post about her dream wedding (you can read it here), which was a collab with Jacqueliine Joy. And it just brought me back in daydreaming about that perfect day…

22

If I would’ve gotten married earlier, when I was 25, my big day would have looked much different from what I now have evisioned. I’ve always been a people pleaser and my parents always had a huge wedding in mind, with all of their friends. But the older I’ve become, the more I want it to be about the 2 of us with our loved ones… Also, when you’re little, you just don’t realize how expensive a wedding actually is… I want it all, but small and intimate… Well, as intimate as it can get, because my family is huge…

The Theme

I’d go for butterflies. My teacher once described me as the creative butterfly in class. It always stuck with me…

It doesn’t matter whether I have nice weather or not, because I can’t count on Belgium for that haha. But I have several ideas to incorporate butterflies in my decor. And I liked how it was everywhere on Cinderella’s dress (the live action movie)! Everything would be in shades of lilac, blues and pinks.

The Dress and the Hair

Now more than before, I’m very conscious about my body. As I have quite broad shoulders, I will never wear something off shoulders or strapless. Secondly, the dress should be comfortable enough so I can dance. Maybe I should just have 2 dresses haha!

And I’ve always loved Ulyana Aster’s hairdesigns!! but maybe with Butterflies instead! Though I do love what I’m seeing here!

Bridesmaids

Long and flowy lilac dresses. The style doesn’t matter, each girl may choose what she likes best on her. As long as it’s long and in the same shade.

Centerpiece

This isn’t exactly what I had in mind at first. But I thought this centerpiece looked really cute… I’d probably make something similar.

Cake or Desserts

I want both!! Greedy, you say!! Nuhuh, Belgians love their desserts. I’d have a beautiful cake and a nice dessert buffet.

Extras

Both my dad and father in law are amateur photographers, so I obviously need a nice backdrop!!!

But as they’ll be there to enjoy themselves, I’d want a professional photographer as well, to capture the most beautiful day of my life. My cousin’s cousin is an incredibly talented photographer, I’ll be likely to ask her.

I’ve clearly grown up with Karaoke. So I’ll probably hire someone who can play the Vietnamese music repertoire and also more mainstream music. There definitely will be dancing and singing at our party.

Other important aspect is of course the food! As chic as I’d want it to be, we’d have very different nationalities. So it’ll be tricky to find a menu that’ll please everyone. But I guess at the end of the day, it’s about what the BF and I want…

I loved fantasizing and dreaming about this day… I had so much fun writing this post. Hopefully I can one day actually see this dream come true!

I hope you enjoyed this post! Please feel free to jump on the wagon and write this post whether you’re already married (would you do it all over again like it was or would you do it completely differently) or planning to. If you do, don’t forget to mention me and the 2 creators: Jenny from Sit Back And Just Live and Jacqueliine Joy (I don’t know what is wrong with my WordPress right now, but I just can’t put the link again to their pages, see above, at the beginning of this post… does anyone experience this problem? The link goes straight to the top of my page, very… very frustrating).

Wishing you a lovely week and I’ll talk to you in my next post!!

Love,

Sarah
