Cup of Favorites: Valentine’s Day – Smooch Proof lip products

Hi Lovelies,

In the honor of Valentine’s day, I’m posting my favorite Smooch Proof Lip Products! Whenever I wear bright lipsticks, my BF would look at me with one raised brow thinking “should I kiss her or not”. If I say that it doesn’t come off, he’d kiss me and plant a kiss on my cheek afterwards to see whether I lied, haha.

In the week, when I go to work I like to go for full on pigmentation and comfort of wear. But in the weekend, I need to consider my BF’s feelings and manly looks in terms of lip products. I wouldn’t want to give him red lips per accident and let him walk around all day like that, now would I. I have to say, the first time he kissed me (some 11 years ago), I had glitter lipstick on (from Bourjois I remember). So naturally he had some glitter on his lips. Later that evening, he went to the gym, so of course everyone saw the glitter. I think it was the only time he didn’t mind the product transfering on his lips, haha.

I divided these products into the following categories: the balms, the glosses, the lip oils, the lipsticks, the lip stains.

Lip Balms

These often have soft color, but not in a way that it would transfer fully. They feel incredibly comfortable on the lips. The one I’ve been wearing since a couple of weeks is the NYX Chunky Dunk Hydrating Lippie. The only thing I don’t like about it, is the scent. But I only smell it during the application, which fades after a couple of seconds.

Another one that I’d recommend is the Colourpop sheer Lippiestix in Kiddo. I could list it as lipstick, but it feels more like a balm to me…

Lip Glosses

The products I’m about to mention were represented in my 2016 favorites (click here to check out that post). I’m of course talking about the Urban Decay Naked Ultray Nourishing Gloss in Beso and the Catrice Volumizing Lip Booster in 040 Nuts About Mary. Obviously a lip gloss will transfer, but when you choose a nude shade, is that such a bad thing? If the gloss is not sticky, but actually feels smooth and has a nice taste to it, I think it adds to the experience, don’t you think? It’ll also make the other’s lip as smooth, so I think they won’t mind it at all!

Oh and one I should definitely not forget: the Maybelline Baby Lips Glosses.

Lip Oils

Lips oils are wonderful to keep the lips soft and smooth. Again, these will transfer, but as they’re mostly transparent, that won’t be an issue. If you pick a scent that you know the other likes, they’ll appreciate it. My BF loved the banana lip oil from 2B that I used to have. They sadly don’t make these anymore. If you know about a banana lip oil, please let me know!!! The ones I’ve recently been wearing are the Essence Prettifying lip oil and the Lancôme Juicy Shaker in Melon. These smell soooooo good!!!

Lipsticks

Personally, I wouldn’t really wear lipsticks when it comes to kissing. But if I were to wear them I’d go for a liquid lipstick. My favs are the Vivid Matt Liquids. I’d also choose the lighter shades though. These also smell nice, so that’s a plus.

Another velvetty product I’ve been enjoying is the NYX Full Throttle Lipstick in Trickster.

Lip Stains

Out of all the smooch proof products, I’d say lip stains are my absolute favorites. They stain your lips nicely red or pink and you don’t have to worry about it at all!! There are many Korean brands that carry great lip stains such as Tony Moly, Etude House,… For instance Benefit Cosmetics also has lip stains that can also be used on the cheeks!

There are also glossy lip stains! My favorite is absolutely Peripera’s Lumi Pang in RD 05. When you dab it off a bit, the color has settled into your lips. It won’t budge. It’s not even a layer of product, it literally sinks in your lips.
