Three things about me

  1. I associate places to food. When I went somewhere and had great food there, I will have the same dish when I go there again. So if I think of this place again, this dish will also pop in my mind haha. I always tell myself that I should try something new, but 90% of the time my stomach has already made the decision before I even got there. For instance, I always go the same Japanese restaurant when I go to Antwerp, called Kaiseki (All you can eat Japanese food, who can say no to that!).
  2. When I was younger, I was incredibly insecure. I was raised to be “the perfect” child my parents wanted me to be. But I was always in conflict with myself, because I only knew how I had to behave in front of grownups. However being around other kids my age, I found it very difficult to be myself, as I wasn’t sure who this “me-person” was. Reading fantasy books helped me escape this reality. I used to spend hours reading and drawing fantasy creatures (usually mermaids and fairies).
  3. I cried watching Trolls. Yes, an almost 30 year old woman, watching an animated movie was crying like a child. I wasn’t expecting this. I expected a breezy funny movie, but somehow I was so moved by it. The last time this happened was when Mufasa died in the Lion King. That’s like in 1994! If you haven’t seen Trolls, you definitely should! It’s a beautiful movie about finding your own happiness and about being the best version of yourself. It was something that felt so close to my heart…

Here are my answers to Capili’s fun questions:

  1. Where do you really want to travel in the world?
On my bucket list are: Japan (Tokyo again, Odaiba), Korea (Seoul, Jeju Island), Vietnam (Phu Quoc, Ho Chi Minh City), Singapore (of course!! I’d go every year if I could. Hell, if I had the money and all the time in the world, every month!), US (Texas (to visit my fav cousins), New York,…), Taiwan, China,… There are so many places to visit!
  2. What is one goal that you would love to achieve by the end of this year?
    I have several goals:
    – Keeping up with my blog
    – 3 times per week sport: Belly dancing on Tuesday, Zumba or fitness on Thursday and Ballroom dancing on Saturday
    – Saving enough money to follow a make up training
  3. If you could have a super power, what would you choose?
I would be able to fly. I always fly in my dreams, so it feels natural to me to have that super power.
  4. If you could speak another language fluently, which language would you choose?Chinese, definitely! I love that language and I think it’s doable to learn to speak it. Writing is probably a bit harder. Then again, Korean is also a fun language.
  5. Which type of fruit best represents you, and why? (haha my weird question).
Mangosteen (aside from Peach) is my favorite fruit and I like to think that it represents me best: cute and pretty with a sweet delicious inside. Hahaha, I’m just kidding!!! It is indeed a weird question, Capili!

YAY congrats and thank you for the nomination 🙂 I need to get around to doing one of them once and for all! I’m totally with you, I always associate food with places too- I go back to a lot of places solely because I want that specific meal/dish I had before! My favorite thing after all to do while traveling is eat 😉 So much travel on your bucket list, I have those same dreams to go to those places, I just need to get over to Asia period!! I also have Texas on my list, Dallas specifically. Where in Texas do your cousins live?

    xo, JJ

Yes, Asia is just wonderful. I also love the food there! I watch a lot of Asian drama (kdrama, tdrama, vdrama,…) and so I’d love to go there. Vietnam is also one of the countries where I had the best food! I always end up getting hungry when I talk to you hahaha. Love our food talks! xoxo Sarah

Haha this was so much fun to read 🙂 🙂 I too was raised to be the perfect child since I am the oldest of six children (my Mum got less strict with each child over the years). I was always nice in school, but also super quiet, and shy ❤ ❤ Aww I haven't watched Trolls yet, but now I feel like it will make me cry. I almost cried during Finding Dory (that movie was not happy like Finding Nemo, it was so sad for most of it). I cry easily when it comes to really sad stories in movies or anime (especially anime). The Lion King was really sad (I still look away at the part when Mufasa dies). Clannard and Your lie in April are super sad anime, and also Nana got me crying in certain scenes.

I also really want to travel to Japan, and Korea. I have always wanted to try Belly dancing, it looks beautiful. Zumba is really fun! Thats so cool that you do ballroom dancing. I would love to speak Chinese (I have chinese blood in me from my Grandmothers side, on my Mum's side of the family). Lol I love your answer to my fruit question haha. It was a good weird question x x

Haha, thank you dear! Glad you liked it! I was the oldest child of two. My brother could do anything and also, until now I still must fix everything for him if it depends on my parents. As my parents didn’t really taught him much, he was practically raised by me… I was his little momma. We have 4,5 years difference, so when we were younger, we often played mommy and baby haha.
Actually depending on how many people are in the room, I can let myself go. If I’m all alone, I cry watching: romantic movies, weddings, animated movies,… you name it :).
Yes travels!! I’m looking forward to this year. If my BF can not go this year again because of his work, I’ll go alone! I need me some vacation! I’m also 1/8th Chinese. My parents are Vietnamese, but my mom is the granddaughter of a Chinese Mandarin. I’ll need to tell that story in another post!
Oh Capili, Belly Dancing is sooooo cool and sensual. I can do some sexy moves for an hour and happily call it sports afterwards hahaha. It doesn’t feel like a chore at all. As you know, I’m not a fan of sports… Never been good at it either…
Seriously though, I think I’m like a mangosteen. Hahahaha just kidding, couldn’t help myself. What fruit would you be, my dear Capili? xoxo Sarah
