Hello my wonderful friends!
I hope you’ve had a lovely weekend! Yesterday I cleaned the house, made some veggie egg rolls and went dancing with my parents in the evening. It was a productive day. Today I’ve been spending my entire sunday taking and editing pictures for the blog haha :D. I now have enough for a couple of posts. With the winter, it’s practically impossible to take pictures in the week as I’m only home after 5 pm. I still think natural light is the best for my pictures.
Today I’m reviewing a product from a Belgium brand called RAINPHARMA. I received for New Years Eve from my BF’s sister in law and brother, a full skincare kit from this brand. They know me quite well :D. Many say, it’s getting more difficult to get me products, as I’m so picky and try out so many different things. But they made an excellent choice with this kit!
RAINPHARMA products don’t contain any parabens, mineral oils, silicones, acids,… It isn’t tested on animals, is free from agressive preservatives,… The list is long! Bottom line, if you have sensitive skin and are looking for natural skincare products, this brand is something to look into. I’ll be reviewing each individual product. When the complete kit is used up, I’ll review the whole line in a separate post. This means that during this period, I won’t be using any other skincare products.
Amazing Oil Cleanser
I do really like their sleek packaging, even though the tube is not representative for the full size packaging. It says in that elegant black lettering: An addictively healthy treat for squeaky clean skin. The tube contains 30ml product, while the full size contains 200ml for 38.95€.
The Product & it’s Claims
Rainpharma believes in double cleansing and I couldn’t agree more. I think that your skin is not perfectly clean if you only remove the make up. An extra cleansing step is needed. This Amazing Oil Cleanser is supposed to remove make up. The formula contains almond oil, avocado oil and jojoba oil, with Aloe vera and Citrus verbena.
Even though there’s no make up to remove in the morning, they also recommend to use this before the cleansing step.
I’m not a huge fan of the scent. I prefer the fresh types of scents. It gives off a very herbal scent. I’m sorry, but I’m horrible at describing this haha.
How does it perform?
It resembles and kind of feels like the Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm. I apply it on my dry skin and add a bit of water, so that it turns into a milky texture. As I use waterproof mascara, the product didn’t remove it well. For the waterproof make up RAINPHARMA does recommend to use another cleanser, called the Advanced Precleanser, which I’ll try out this evening. All the rest of my make up came off well and felt quite soft on the skin. I was surprised how much it resembled the Clinique product, even though Clinique does take off the waterproof make up perfectly well.
Is quite similar to the previous product, sleek, clean white packaging. If it weren’t for the elegant letters, I’d say it comes straight out of the lab. We once made some hand cream with school, this tube is how it looks like :p. The little sample contains 20ml. For the full size of 100ml, you pay 31.95€.
The Product & it’s Claims
The description and the claims are pretty much the same as the Amazing Oil Cleanser, except that it’s supposed to do a job better, when it comes to water proof make up. It literally says on the back of the tube that the oil attracts impurities like a magnet.
This one really reminds me of a cream, that I’d buy from the apothecary to apply on blisters or insect bites. The scent is exactly the same…
How does it perform?
The cream definitely feels thicker and more sticky than the Amazing Oil Cleanser. It’s transparent though. Rubbing it all over the skin, even though it feels thick, it glides quite easily. When adding a bit of water to massage it in, it turns to a milky texture. The amazing thing is that with just one pea size amount, it removes all the make up. Your face is litterally squeaky clean in a minute.
I was hesitating whether I should post the pictures below. They’re not the most flattering shots… But I feel like you can’t really review something if you can’t show it… So here goes… (Maaaaan, there’s no going back!!).
I’m surprised. The Advanced Precleanser does the work amazingly well. I didn’t have to reapply. I’ve had that with some products before and that truly is a deal breaker…
I’ll use up the Amazing Oil Cleanser in the morning as I don’t find it potent enough to remove my daily (waterproof) make up. While I do like the Advanced Precleanser. It is slightly more expensive than my favorite: the Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm, which costs 31.50€ for 125ml vs 31.95€ for 100ml. Than I’d prefer Clinique. Furthermore, Clinique products don’t have a scent.
That being said, I do enjoy these products. I’ve only been using the range for a couple of days, but I can tell that my skin is very happy and glowy…
Have you heard of this brand before? Which products have you tried? Any other natural products you’d recommend?
Have a lovely week beautifuls!
