Cup of Reviews: Sephora Peony Exfoliating Gum Wash

Hi loves,

I hope you’ve had a great week! Mine started off lovely. I came home Tuesday and there was a big surprise waiting for me. When I went to say hi to my rabbits, Vanilla and Mokka, I almost jumped 1 m high. There were 4 wiggling little bundles in their poo pot and a whole lot of loose fur surrounding these little black and pink bundles and around the pot. I saw the little elongated ears peaking out and I was instantly in love!

It appeared, my friends… that Vanilla has always been “Vanillo”! But because I had never seen anything “transpire” between my 2 rabbits in the whole year that I’ve had them, I’ve assumed they were both girls… So this was definitely a big surprise. I was so happy and looking forward to taking care of them and eventually find a sweet owner for them. But Pistachi, Caramel, Banana and Melony died on thursday after 3 days :'(… As Vanilla and Mokka are siblings, I’ll have to sterilize one of the two because their incest was probably the reason why the babies didn’t survive. But I was so devastated about this loss, that I actually want an extra rabbit to have healthy baby rabbits…

So yeah, what started off as a great week ends really sadly! I was so much looking forward to see them grow and become young bunnies :'(…

I decided to write a little review to take my mind off this whole thing. With the Sephora sales, I picked up a couple of products, of which the Sephora Peony Exfoliating Gum Wash.

This little jar comes with 160 ml of product and retails for 8,5€, but for the sales I paid 4,20€.

How does it work?

When you open the jar, you see a shiny white paste with pink particles. The product is so cohesive (sticky but essentially to itself), that it forms a thick paste. You almost have to pinch it to take some product out.

When you rub it on your body, it tends to be a bit slippery. But once it starts to lather and transform into a milky cream, the scrubbing begins.

As it is a gum wash, it is supposed to be enough to actually replace your soap or shower gel.

How do I feel about this product?

From the moment I pinched out a bit of product and caught a whiff of the amazing Peony scent, I felt relaxed! When I started rubbing the product on my body and seeing it slowly transform in this milky foam I was sold! It feels so luxurious!

Now, I don’t think it’s practical to use it in the morning. I see it more as a Spa treatment in the evening after a long day of work. I think it is super affordable. For you people out there who don’t like strong scents, I warn you: The Peony scent is quite strong.

I hope you don’t mind for me sharing this sad story with you, but I felt that those little rabbits deserved a little place on my blog. I hope you’ve enjoyed this quick review and I’ll talk to you in my next post!

Love,

Sarah

I’m so sorry about the baby bunnies, I had this happen with Finches a couple of years ago and it’s quite heart breaking.
In regards to the review, I MIGHT JUST PICK THIS UP. I love Peony smell, and I really need a scrub! Thanks for the review, again 🙂

Thank you Rhi :). If you also have pets, you know. It’s so sweet how they have their own personality. Mokka is actually angry at me right now, because we had to get rid of the babies…
Yes, you should if you like the scent. It’s really nice! And you’re welcome. xoxo Sarah

Thank you, it was sad. And Mokka was also angry at me for taking the babies away… The poor momma rabbit. Not sure about the ingredients, as it doesn’t say it on the packaging. However the texture is definitely “gummy”. It’s very thick and jelly like. It sticks quite well to itself, so you can’t just scoop it out. You have to pinch it off. Then you can use that little chunk to rub over your body. It’s quite lovely :). xoxo Sarah

Aww sorry to for your loss dear ❤ ❤ Thats so sad for Vanilla and Mokka especially. It would of been confusing for them. I hope you can find another bunny so they will have healthy babies. It will be good for Vanilla and Mokka to have that extra company. Rabbits are just the cutest 🙂 🙂 Make sure you give them extra cuddles this week!

I really enjoyed your review (I always love your reviews). The exfoliating gum wash sounds wonderful. It would be good to use on days when I use a face mask, making it a great pamper day lol. I hope you are doing fine. Remember to give extra cuddles to your bunnies x x

Thank you, dear! I just love the bunnies so much. As we don’t have kids yet, they’re like our little children. They get lots of love! Though Mokka is a bit angry towards me right now. She doesn’t want much cuddles…
Glad you enjoyed this review. I really recommend it!! xoxo Sarah

Aww so sad about the bunnies!!!! Sending my love to you and them ❤ ❤
But about the exfoliating scrub- that sounds like such a good product. I love how it has those microbeads in them, I'm all about using skin products with that in there I just feel like it help exfoliate that much more. Do you know if they have other scents aside from peony?

      Thank you, Jenny!!
The scrub is heavenly. Even though on the Sephora.fr website, there are other scrubs, I haven’t seen the gum wash in other scents. I tried looking on the Sephora.com website, but I haven’t seen much bath and body products on it… Sorry I couln’t help you… xoxo Sarah

Hi Alana, thank you! The mommy, Mokka, was actually pretty angry at me for taking her dead babies away. She didn’t want any petting and growled softly at me (sounds like a moan actually, it’s so cute). But she’s better now… Food always can help you forget the pain. The same goes for my sweet bunnies haha. The scrub is really nice!!! I use it every time I need some pampering (which is about every other day haha). xoxo ❤ Sarah
