Hello my dear cupcakes,
You obviously love bling bling on them eyes, as you’ve clicked on this blogpost. I know I do. When I first saw this pallet come out and saw Leesha from Xsparkage do a review and first impression on this, I thought the colors looked so bright, so I didn’t think I’d want to add this to my collection. But when I went to an Urban Decay counter and swatched these, I thought it truly looked amazing. I didn’t buy it immediately, because I thought it was still expensive for a pallet with only glitter shadows. But of course Sephora had to go and give a 25% reduction, so that basically melted any last resistance I was still holding on to (cause let’s face it, I do not need any more make up).
The shadows are signature Urban Decay soft. They feel like butter when swatched with the finger. Because these are packed with glitter, they have a wet look to them. I feel like the finger as well as brush swatches give intense color payoff. Though 2 colors are a bit less pigmented than the rest (Specter and Magnetic).
Now, I’ve tried taking pictures with my smartphone. I apologize for the bad picture quality in advance, but it was extremely hard capturing the beautiful glitter aspects of these shadows. I’ll describe them as best as I can.
My favorite and most used shades are: Specter (even if it’s not the highest in pigment), Element and Galaxy. But I do love the other colors too. Each is quite unique and different.
It’s obvious that this pallet is not something you can take with you and make a full make up look with (unless you like a wash of glitter on your eyelids, which is totally fine of course). The way I use it, is as a final touch of glitter on a finished eye look to give it some umph.
I do feel that people could either be intimidated by glitter or they could go overboard with it. I think it is a question of finding the right balance. Usually I start with a basic smokey eye (brown or grey) using matt shades and pop the glitter on the center of my eyes. This gives a gorgeous sofisticated look. You could also use Specter (the lightest pink shade) in the inner corner to give your eyes a more open look.
Overall, I really like this pallet. I don’t think it is a must have though. This one is truly for the glitter make up junky out there.
I hope you found this post helpful. Please let me know if you want to see a couple of looks using this pallet. If you enjoyed this post, please don’t forget to like it and subscribe to my blog.
Love,
Sarah

Thank you for this review! I’ve been eyeing this palette but said I’ll hold of just because I don’t wear too much eyeshadow. But I have been experimenting lately and want to experiment on others as well so I thought I should at least have a various collection of shadows and this one would be a good one to add!

You’re welcome! This is one of the more expensive pallets though. If you want to experiment with glitter, I can recommend to you the Colourpop shadows which are ultra glittery so you can see if you like the glitter looks. Those are 5$ per piece. But it’s up to you of course. If you love all shades of glitter, go for the Moondust shadows! They’re amazing on any look and super versatile. xoxo Sarah
